Google just reminded me that I was at this coffee shop nine months ago, and Pearlsa claims to have had one of the best flat whites here. I say it’s time to tell you about this awesome little café that had us drooling over espresso drinks and toasted banana bread slathered in coffee infused butter.
Neighbours is a sister café to the delightful Honor Café. While part of Honor’s allure is its unique outdoor location, great coffee, bright cozy interiors and excellent lunch/brunch options make Neighbours just as appealing.
Tucked between a bunch of shops on busy Boulevard Beaumarchais in Le Marais, the shop is small but cheery with ample light from windows and mirrors to make it look bright and spacious.
The design is a mix of vintage tables and chairs, patterned tiles, hints of greenery and lots of lighting. There’s a golden counter wrapped around a little area where some of the food prep happens, on top of the counter sits a display case of tempting array of pastries and coffee-making accoutrements.
We stopped here a few times during our stay, we’d sit by the large windows watching the busy street go by, sipping on creamy iced lattes and hearty flat whites and munching on that deliciously grilled banana bread – it’s certainly a must-try if you ever visit. For a small operation, service is efficient and brisk, with a friendly and bilingual staff.
We kept getting recommendations to try their brunch and lunch offerings; if I ever make it back to Paris, guess where I’m going for brunch?
