The food here is good too, there’s excellent coffee, to go with delicious breakfast and lunch options made with locally sourced ingredients.

It’s sweet, nutty with slight tartness from a splash of lemon juice. I dress it with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

It’s wonderfully crumbly with a moist interior and sweet crispiness from the cornmeal, it’s also fruity, the blood orange has a tangy, rich marmalade-like flavour.

The cookies are tender and crumbly with that slight nutty taste you get from baking with almond flour, and there’s just enough sweetness from the jam – use whatever flavour of jam or preserve you prefer.

It’s satisfying and makes a substantial meal, best serves with a side of crusty bread, flatbread or socca if you’re so inclined like me. I also like small sprinkle of barberries to add some tartness to the salad.
