Oddfellows Cafe, Seattle

I was supposed to be in Seattle this weekend, but plans changed so I stayed home and baked a large pizza instead.
It’s easy to sometimes forget that Seattle is only two and the half hours away, with a border between us it does seem farther away oftentimes.

I love day trips to Seattle. My favourite way to discover the city is to explore it one neighbourhood at a time.

We stopped by Oddfellows, a delightfully rustic neighbourhood café and bar in the Capitol Hill district on a recent visit to Seattle.

The setting is spacious, eclectic décor with sky-high ceilings and a vibrant atmosphere – it feels like the kind of place you’d go for brunch with friends or late night drinks.

I would have loved to stay longer but we’d ventured in for a quick coffee break after spending hours at Elliot Bay Books and Totokealo next door where the prettiest dresses live.

I had a mocha, perfectly made with almond milk, and wonderful scones to go with it – the coffee is from Stumptown Coffee.

I’d love to go back for brunch and try some of the other items on their menu, and sit outside their adorable patio in the back.
