They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Yet I hardly ever eat breakfast.
On weekdays I sometimes don’t eat at all until dinner time.
This is a habit I’m trying to break, because all I do after going without food for that long is overeat.
It’s almost 2011 so maybe that should be one of my new year’s resolutions – learning to eat several small meals throughout the day.
I thoroughly enjoyed having breakfast every morning while I was on vacation.
And it wasn’t like I was eating anything fancy either, these were simple and filling meals, I remember thinking how easily I could put them together at home too.
Take this set-up for example; this was a week into my vacation.
Here, breakfast consisted of slices of pain aux cereales with spread and jam, coffee with coconut milk and carrot juice.
Now, I didn’t know this at the time of purchase but I’d apparently bought lactic fermented carrot juice!
It tasted more like kombucha than carrot juice, and eventually got used in pasta sauces.
I’ve discovered a great bakery nearby, and collected a few interesting breakfast recipes.
My mornings are about to get delicious!
