It’s All Fun & Clothes
I invented a word today; ‘Olympicing’ (\o-‘lim-pik-ing), it’s a verb, means to partake in Olympics related activities (but not necessarily the actual games).
How would you use it?
Well, my favourite little guys and I were going to hang out tomorrow but I had to say to them;
“I’m so sorry guys, I won’t be around tomorrow – it looks like I’m olympicing this weekend”
Too bad I’ll only get to use it for another week or so.
The weather has been absolutely fabulous. It’s like spring, which also means spring allergies, Argh!
We went over to LiveCity Yaletown last night; it was packed, like a giant sea of red
We watched the final minutes of the nail biting Canada vs. Switzerland hockey game and then Kiesha Chanté came on the main stage.
I was kinda bummed I missed Alpha Yaya Diallo the previous night.
We checked out the pavilions and got glow-in-the-dark coke bottles.
I took tons of pictures and videos.
Now on to what I wore, although technically I didn’t wear this last night.
But let’s just say that I did.
I don’t know about you but I feel more comfortable and confident when my clothes fit properly.
I hate ill-fitting clothes, they make me sad.
I’ve always wondered why, if you have the option, would choose to wear clothes that don’t fit properly.
That said, sometimes these things just creep up on you.
Take this seemingly nice teal dress for example, pretty isn’t it?
Except it clings to curves, and parts of your body you don’t want highlighted.
Granted, it’s not that bad, but I’ve had this dress for years and never noticed it before.
And you thought I was just being vain by taking pictures of my outfits daily…
Good thing I can always throw a coat over it.
Thank heavens for winter and coats eh?

Final Resting Places
I have a confession to make, after which you’re going to think I’m weird.
Cemeteries fascinate me!
I find them intriguing and romantic; there’s nothing more serene, peaceful or beautiful than a walk through a cemetery.
There is so much character, history and emotion there.
I also enjoy the interesting and beautiful headstones and tombstones.
I wonder about the people buried here, their life, history and the loved ones they left behind.
That we take such care and consideration when burying our dead intrigues me.
Coming from a culture where such fascination with a place where the dead rests is frowned upon, I’ve had curtail my enthusiasm for cemeteries.
Actually, is there’s a culture that encourages people to hang out in cemeteries besides perhaps the Goth subculture?
I wish there were an easier and effective way to respectfully incorporate park use into cemeteries.
These pictures are from a charming cemetery in Lynden, WA just outside the Canadian border.
We stopped by briefly one quiet foggy morning.
It was such a peaceful and centering moment.
Remember Blue
When we were kids, my sister and I both had pretty blue dresses.
My grandmother had them made for us one Christmas; mine was a sweet little A-line dress with tucks at the waist and big bows on the side.
I don’t remember my sister’s style, but I remember we wore them to church on Christmas morning with my grandmother.
I think that was our last Christmas together.
Blue dresses remind me of my grandmother.
I wore a lot of pink, as most little girls do, when I was a child.
My sister on the other hand wore yellows.
My mom switched her to yellow when I was born, I guess so that I could wear pinks.
I still can’t understand the logic behind that.
When I got bigger and mine didn’t fit anymore, I wore my sister’s blue dress (along with her yellow dresses).
There’s a special place in my heart for blue dresses, and if I could, I’d wear them only, all the time.

Necklace: Vintage (my grandmother’s)
Tuesday Skirt
Yay! Another outfit post.
There is so much going on, I’m taking a little break from talking about the games and all the activities.
I will say this though; the crowds are a little overwhelming.
This is one of my favourite skirts, I suddenly feel grown up every time I wear it.
Unfortunately I don’t wear it enough; the intent henceforth will be to wear it at least once a month.
Wearing:
Skirt: Pink Tartan
White Shirt: The Gap
Tights: Target
Booties: Camper

I have a cute Breton shirt that would pair quite nicely with this skirt.
Can’t wait to try it…
