What I Wore: Casual Friday

We don’t really have a Casual Friday policy at my place of work because we’re pretty much casual all week round.

I do however try to wear jeans on Fridays because even though there isn’t an official dress code no one really wears jeans to work.

Dressing down on Fridays also sets a relaxed mood for the start of the weekend.

It’s extra nice when it’s not raining and I finally get to wear my wide-legged pants without fear.

If you look closely you’d notice my square-toe boots – these are from a couple of years back when they were quite fashionable.

I discovered this amazing shoe store when I moved to Vancouver; Stéphane de Raucourt had elegant, beautifully made shoes.

The designs were original and exclusive, the designer was local, there were two locations (Robson Street and Oakridge Centre) and each location had different shoes.

I’d spend entire afternoons browsing, the shoes were so chic, eclectic and well constructed.

I used to dream I’d own several pairs, I’d collect them like pieces of art, I promised myself.

Unfortunately I just got two pairs before the stores shut down. Mr De Raucourt moved on to real estate.

I wonder if he still designs shoes, doesn’t he miss it?

The gold rose ring I got from The One Of a Kind Show.

The watch is 21 Must de Cartier one of my favourite pieces, it’s simple and elegant.
