Live, But Only If Passionately

Orange Sky

Axël is a play by French symbolist writer Auguste Villiers de l’Isle-Adam

Towards the end of the play, Axël and Sara discover buried treasure and eventually fall in love.

They dream great dreams of unbridled wealth and happiness, of the riches and glory the treasure will bring them and the splendid future that awaits them.

Realizing their lives could never match up to their dreams, they kill themselves instead.

“As for living,” says Axël “Our servants can do that for us”
